How to get a raise at work? Tiny Pug Puppy vs Adult French Bulldog

All of my good friends know I am obsessed with my French Bulldog. My Giovanna is one of the best things I've ever acquired.

A friend of mine sent me this video and aside form how SUPER CUTE it is, it got me remembering something:
Don't let size, seniority, or fear of a big "bite" keep you from going from what you desire and deserve.  Work hard and try...try...try again. Don't let falling on your back discourage you. It will only make you stronger. Try different ways and make sure the "big dogs" know you exist.

A Closed mouth doesn't get fed....

Enjoy!

Kony - Actual issue or Skimming the surface

Watch the video below... then read this..

Whether you believe in the message of this Anti-Kony 2012 campaign video or not, there is a very important message in it - we must think as individuals and collaborate based on research. This video illustrates how the Kony 2012 movement spread like bushfire. No surprise given the popularity of Twitter and Facebook worldwide...remember Egypt just recently?

 Its funny because 3 nights ago, at dinner with a rather international group of friends (Saudi Arabian, Italian, French, Haitian, and American), the Kony subject came up. We had all heard about it but didn't even know who the guy was. With the great modern technology of Google for smartphones we began to search. This got us wondering the following: child soldiers in Africa have been happening for a long time. Why now? Why Kony? Why Uganda?

Why with all of the hunger, increase in personal debt, a looming 2nd recession, and just coming out of Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama himself is naming this authenticity as an issue we need to get involved in?

Well.............perhaps .... ------> http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20120228-707926.html

or  ------> http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/foreigners/features/2007/untapped_the_scramble_for_africas_oil/does_africa_measure_up_to_the_hype.html

Now its true..if you want to find something online to defend either side, there is an abundance of support BUT

In the past few decades, US has gone "full force" on international issues in which the countries were open to anti-American ideals within missile range (Cuba, Nicaragua), had oil (do I have to break this down?), and/or positioned in ideal naval location  (see recent Australian bases - China or Korean watching?).

Now if I was a new, cool president , or more importantly a group of powers that be, I would say to myself...well we've angered enough people. The American people won't support another international effort that requires more tax dollars and more American dead bodies. Re-election is coming up and we need a "case". We need a reason to keep soldiers and our foot nearby. Hum..Europe, nope - they've got their own issues. Russia, oh no. China, they won't let us. India? perhaps but still too far and not enough natural resources......Oh I got it...Africa. Let's create a common enemy that people will undeniably hate in unison. Now that Osama is dead, Kony will rekindle the masses need to be a part of something... an Occupy WallStreet model applied internationally on a human abuse issue. We'll still be relatively close to Middle East but more importantly will be in the middle of a country full of resources as heros. We'll call this plan Savior Dependency plan. We'll be the new Catholic church.

I don't believe Uganda has the oil this video claims it has but who knows? They say oil rich areas tend to have very old fossils found ---- http://www.civilservicestimes.com/editorial-/cover-story/544-fossils-discovered-oldest-african-ape-fossil-found-in-uganda.html . All I know if there are other countries such as Gabon, Sudan, and Nigeria that already are pushing alot of oil and has enough corruption for us to find some story to be a apart of. So I still wonder...what is it?

Exercise - take a blank map of Africa. color in the top 10 Oil producing countries. Now with a red marker, fill in Uganda. After you've done that,  research what the distant is from Uganda to any of the "problem" countries in the Middle East such as...let's say Iran. Draw a red line. Look at your art work and  you'll find something pretty interesting....

Whatever you get out of it, it all up to you.
